there is a business in McMinnville, near where I live, that actually has a sign on the door that says “Don’t fucking steal from me.”

I wonder if the person who wrote that one is related to the owner of this fine establishment?

Aren’t all the things on the second list in double negative form due to the list title? So the first instruction is that, this summer, you should not not let your dog shit there.

Be careful what you ask for…

If I would happen to pass by a sign like that I would probably do something really, really disprespectful on the spot. Just to get even.

Anyway, great blog. I need a few laughs now and then.

(And incidentally, what does “now and then” really mean? I needed laughs before and now, too? Wierd.)

The smiley face tells me he is friendly but the rest of it tells me he is unfriendly. Why am I receiving so many mixed messages?

Oh, come on people. The guy lives near a park and probably has a ton of people leaving trash or letting their dogs shit on his doorstep. He can’t stand on his porch 24/7 and confront them all day. So instead he tried to remind them that a person lived there, and to be considerate. This particular note struck me as wry and a bit frustrated, but not passive aggressive, and actually, not unreasonable. Passive aggressive is when you leave notes for colleagues and roommates when you really should just talk to them. Or, perhaps, when a note gets anal-retentive, freakish and unreasonable in its complaints or demands. This one doesn’t fall into either category.
