the dude who left the note actually lives on the SIXTH floor, not the 5th. in germany they count floors beginning with (what we would call) the second.

i know that doesn’t matter to anyone, especially a year after the last comment was made, but fuggit.

Jerry at #9.9 (and others), Anne Frank was indeed German. Her family moved to Holland to escape what was happening in Germany. Unfortunately, that move only delayed things, but didn’t save them and only the father, Otto Frank, survived.

well if you want to get all technical ugh, she wasn’t famous when she wore the jewelry! or when it was taken from her… I mean, how would they actually know they had Anne Frank’s jewelry anyways, unless it was somehow left in the Secret Annex – I highly doubt that even the highly efficient German people took the time to catalog every single necklace they stole from a scared 15 year old girl…

and has nobody here given thought to any gold teeth she may or may not have had ripped from her skull before being stripped and shorn and put to work??

yeah, no. No mixed stereotypes. I have no idea why you think that there are mixed stereotypes. Forget Anne Frank, the joke is “jewelry from dead Jews killed during the Holocaust” the name Anne Frank was chosen simply because she is quite famous.

If you REALLY want to quibble about Anne Frank’s jewelry the problem is that the note is from Germany not Switzerland.
