I love this site, I have linked to you because I’m doing something similar on my own…. only with vegetables… although I think I might be the passive aggressive one…

You know what really makes me want to keep the kitchen counter clean? Comparing it to a feces-encrusted anus.

Oh man, my roommate used to leave notes on EVERYTHING. Stuff just like this. There were some great ones too, I should have taken some pictures.

I feel sorry for the note taker. People who don’t clean up after themselves are a$@holes. You’re not living at home anymore, grow up & wipe down the bench!

Those notes are a bit much but as the one who spends way too much time cleaning up behind two slobs, I can relate. It only takes a few seconds to wipe down counters and microwaves and put your own dishes in the dishwasher. No one wants to clean up behind other adults. That will drive you batty!

I can understand not wanting to clean up after slobs but to be treated as a child… no no no… I would never be able to deal with this roommate!

I was the naughty roommate back then. I probably needed more post-it notes, or (the electronic version) email memos. All of which are substitutions for the real work of talking it out, eh? I wonder if the real reason this is so funny is because it seems a little too familiar…

My ex’s childhood home had labels all over it just like this…”put cap on toothpaste,” “turn off water”…apparently Dad was driven to do it because neither his wife or child was capable of simple tasks. It should have clued me in. My question is, who exactly is passive-aggressive here?
Happy Birthday, Vauhn, and put the cap on the toothpaste, willya?

Lydia, you are my hero. The original note writer gives me the impression that they are not just passive aggressive, but a control freak, too. The kinda person that angrily vacuums at 6:45 am because they lost an argument the day before.

If I found these notes in a shared kitchen, one of those blue post-its would’ve said: “Uh, I kinda got confused by the counter note and thought you wanted me to wipe my ass w/ the kitchen sponge. That explains the funky smell. My bad.”

ugh, if anyone ever said “shame on you” to me regarding my dishwashing habits, i’d feel tempted to be passive-agressive back too.

Good thing I don’t live there. I have to decide today whether to wash dishes or use paper plates. The only dishwasher I have is me.
