Thank you for your constructive criticism.

I think it worth nothing that the letter is probably meant to point out that everyone else here deserves a cold drink as much as the jerk taking a can out of the fridge without replacing it.

Perhaps a better encapsulation of all that is wrong with me is that some people could take from what they don’t deserve, when it is freely and generously offered, without feeling some sense of obligation in return.

No. Understandable is a note that simply states: Please replace your cold drink with one from the pantry. Then if people fail to live up to the bargain you stop providing free drinks. Passive Aggressive nonsense like “EVERYONE DESERVES A COLD DRINK” is neither true nor productive.

Well, then you’ll need to time-stamp each drink so that people will know which ones have been cooled sufficiently. I say, just get yourselves a larger refrigertaor.
