God I hate the vibrate setting on phones. It’s nice to have when you’re some place really noisy, but in an quiet setting they should be silent. This note totally made my day as even in the pet industry I am forced to listen to my co-workers’ irritating ringtones. I always keep my phone silent at work.

While not at work, my ringtone for my boyfriend is “Jizz in my Pants”, for my sister is “Ghost” by Mnemic, and for everyone else is “Beer!” by Psychostic. My text notification sound is the “Song of Storms” from Zelda.

I keep my phone on vibrate, in the pocket on my shirt…everytime it goes off it tickles my boob …. and then I go hehehe and never miss a call

My dad’s cellphone came with a bunch of pre-programmed ring tones which didn’t have titles on them. He picked one out for my mom that he liked. After months of having guy’s hit on him, he realized (after a little help and a lot of laughing on my part) that the theme from “Sex and the City” was playing every time my mom called him

In an effort to unite those around me in song or in spirit, my cell phone rings the theme from Monday Night Football. It is instantly recognized by others, even women, who often chime in with an occasional fist pump or start humming along. I always get smiles all around, even if it’s on a low volume.

I was sitting in a church service once and a ladies cell went off, full volume, with “Dontcha with your girlfried was HOT like me”.

My wife has the “Numa-Numa” song as a ring tone. But she often leaves her phone at home and it rings a lot. That was somewhat amusing the first, say ten times, But eventually, hearing the same damn “Numa, numa ay, Numa, numa ay” every few minutes begins to make we want to grab the phone stomp it into the floor and then THROW IT OVER THE BALCONY. STOP THE NUMA NUMA SHIT!!!!

Something I can really relate to!

“Older people” – err mostly people in their thirties now, constantly leave their phones on their desks as work. It’s the most annoying then, especially for the ones WHO KNOW they get 10 calls an hour – some of those even keep their ringtone on …

Wow, I can’t believe I didn’t comment once on this post… this might have been while I was on strike…

My favorite ringtone I ever had was for a friend of mine who was a little “Dim” – The Wizard of Oz’s “If I Only Had a Brain”

But as for the note, I totally agree. Yesterday the in the cube next to me went to run and get lunch and left her phone and purse (why?) and someone was calling her off the hook, but it was on vibrate… and it was driving me nuts listening to the buzzing every few seconds! So even if your phone is on vibrate, keep it with you dammit! Or turn it off!

My Phone. My general ringer is “Sorry” by Madonna. The people who call me most have custom ringers – “the tarantella”, “butterflies and airplanes” by The Clarks, “stunt 101″ by G-Unit, “party like a rockstar” by The Shop Boyz, “tumbleweed” by Afroman, “don’t stop believing” by Journey, “up in smoke” by Cheech & Chong, “smoke two joints” by Sublime, “somebody to love”; “i want to break free”; & “bohemian rhapsody” by queen, “hypnotize” by Notorious B.I.G, and “stronger” by Britney Spears. My text noise is the super mario brothers “going down a pipe” noise. All seriously annoying as ringtones. But I like the songs. The person who has the ringer of Bohemian Rhapsody usually gets my voicemail because I’m too busy singing along to answer. But the only time my phone is actually on is when I’m in the car or on my lunch. The rest of the time, I keep it on silent. I find I get odd looks when these random ringtones go off in no particular order when people call me. I just think it’s a courtesy to set your phone on silent or vibrate if you’re going to be someplace where other people could be disturbed by an obnoxious ass ringer. If somebody isn’t around to hear their phone ring, why not just put it on silent?
