But in the book Judy Blume actually wrote he swallowed the turtle…

I think screenwriters wrote the thing about boiling it for the TV show…

Years ago, when my girls were little, there was a Saturday morning kids’ show Called Fudge.
One day Fudge, a cute little 4 or 5 year old, took his big brother’s turtle and boiled it singing…”Turtle soup! Turtle soup! Turtle, turtle, turtle soup!”

Fruit and cake to that tune has been with me all weekend!
