I think you can have a pretty cool Halloween party with 6 people. I think that’s the oddest part about this note, that this person cared more about her stupid hurt pride than she did about 6 other people. Those people will probably be sitting home alone watching horror movies too!

Okay, I’m gonna stick my neck out here, and probably be called everything from Carrielover to annoying old fart, but there is the side of the person planning a party that no one is considering. I mean a party that is more than a bowl of pretzels, a case of beer and a drop cloth.

Responding “Maybe I’ll come” to a party invitation is rude. It implies that either you can’t commit to a plan or you are holding out for a better offer. Either way, it’s insulting to the host who goes to some work and expense to plan the party. Carrie went way over the top publicly having a snit fit about the turnout, but I know plenty of party hosts who are sick of the no-shows, “I’ll come if nothing better comes up” and the “I’ll come over if you twist my arm” guests. It really makes one think, why bother?
