A little bit of shameless gloating

November 5th, 2008 · 69 comments

About about a year ago, Coco says, “while visiting home (Charleston — South Carolina’s lone bastion of remote liberalism) — I left my ‘Is it 2008 yet?’ sticker-adorned car in San Francisco’s Outer Richmond district for friends to babysit.

Upon my return, my friend presented me with this note, which had been left on my windshield. I would expect this in Charleston, but in San Francisco?  I blame the patrons of the golf course my car was parked next to.”

No Asshole. It is not 2008 yet. And you liberal cruds will lose then as well. Look at the idiots that you've elected (Clinton, Reid, Pelosi, Boxer, Kennedy, etc.). Clearly you have no shame - and no brains. Note also that a new administration takes office in 2009

I’ve got to feel sorry for the note author. Must be painful as hell to have no asshole.

People like this never acknowledge that their predictions were wrong. Whoever wrote this must have felt really educated by mentioning inaugarations take place the year following elections, though.

Also, do you think the note writer is talking shit about JFK? I guess it’s probably Edward, but still, it’s open for debate.

of course he’s not wrong about who should have won. he’s only wrong about how many unemployed deadbeats seeking handouts showed up with their white guilt, or black power, or mccain paranoia, to act out their agenda to elect a muslim terrorist bent on socialism.

Well, for one, it made sense, if a bit assholish. Ever read any of what Nostradamus wrote? It’s utter nonsense. People think he made these accurate predictions, but in fact, it’s mostly weird stuff that people shoehorn into predictions.

Sorry, I managed to go on another of my skeptic tirades.

What’s wrong with electing Clinton? I consider that our highlight! That’s when I had extra money to throw around, and I certainly haven’t had any since Bush took office. Ugg.

Maybe it’s because the nation was living on credit for the last 20 years and we’re just now starting to pay for it? Obama is in for a rough 10 years running all 58 United States [his numbers, not mine].

The nation was living on credit for the past 20 years? You might want to push that figure back just a bit and make sure you include the fiasco of Reaganomics in your argument. Trickle down, indeed.

Clinton’s policies were actually pretty good from an economic perspective but it was the Republican Congress that deregulated the stock market in 1999 resulting in the big mess we see today. Bush’s tax cuts and corporation-friendly policies made matters worse. It was time to change and Obama is the agent of that change. McCain likens himself to Reagan, the president who gleefully watched high-paying manufacturing jobs head to other countries.

Go ahead and poke fun at Obama with carefully selected sound bites if you want, but you’re only making a mockery of yourself. You can bitch and moan because your wild-eyed third party candidate of choice was ignored or you can embrace a much needed change.

The bottom line is that nearly 70 million people voted for him. I’ve got to believe that a few of them are smarter than you.

Well now we know one more reason McCain lost the election: idiots like this guy were waiting until next year to vote.

Yes, the new administration starts in 2009 but the ELECTION is in 2008. It makes no sense to ask “Is it 2009 yet ?” before knowing who would be president.

The question would make sense now but a year ago all anybody was waiting for was the election. Besides, “Is it 2008 yet?” doesn’t necessarily imply that the owner of the sticker is a liberal.
