I’m disabled, and while my disability is (on most days) invisible, I can barely, and I do mean barely, walk for more than about 30 feet before my legs will quite literally drop out from under me. I should, probably, be in a wheelchair at this point, but I prefer to use my own two legs as I possibly can, even if it does cause me a great deal of pain. As such, I have pretty much zero sympathy for someone who will take the handicap spot when they are completely able-bodied.

If it is well and truly the only spot, then it sounds to me like the real problem isn’t the note writer. It’s with A) the building owner who isn’t providing enough parking spots per apartment, or B) her neighbors for taking up more slots than they are allotted per apartment.

Either way, the should be grateful the note writer, an occupant in the building who is disabled, or somebody else hasn’t called the police.

And as far as I’m concerned, the fact that she submitted the note here is, in my mind, proof that she’s just a selfish twit. If, in my able bodied days, I had parked in the handicapped spot so many times one of my neighbors was threatening to call the cops on me, I would have been ashamed and embarassed. Not showing the note around and acting like it’s writer was somehow in the wrong for calling me out on my crappy behavior.

I’m sorry, but the submitter is a spoiled brat.

But the submitter isn’t disabled, nor does she even try to claim she is.

And the note-writer even said that it was the lack of tag/plate that was the foremost issue. She mentioned the limp thing, I believe, as basically saying “You don’t have the paperwork, you don’t look disabled, what in the hell do you think you’re doing?”

The submitter is just a self-righteous brat who thinks she’s entitled to the handicap spot.
