It actually worked for me in college. I would get $10 a week with a note that read “God loves you.” Grandmas know that Jesus saves, but God doles out the money.

Wow. So only Christians can have good qualities?
I’m smart, friendly, generous, and I believe myself to be decent-looking. And while I’m Christian, I don’t believe those to be gifts from God so much as the products of good genetics and a proper raising.

Oh, and I met a Hindu man yesterday. I don’t know him well enough to recognize too many of his qualities, but dude can paint. I thought only Christians could be talented?

I guess if you were brainwashed as a child and lived to a ripe old age when senility sets in, you likely won’t
know how to deal with an atheist. Even the Pastors in the churches don’t understand atheism, much less deluded old grannies.

However, your position that those who put more stock in man than “God” is contradictory to the argument that those who don’t believe in “God” have no believe system at all, no?

Racism? Really? The Klan professes to be a Christian organization. Their interpretation of God supports their world-view.
Are you saying that anything we do invoking God’s name to bind us together is inherently good?

I think that would make him asshole of the year, actually. Being dishonest to someone because you look down upon them enough to think they can’t handle “the truth”? Sure, that’s respect right there, Pat. Yeah she’s a bit surprised and upset but trying to fit into a “mold” of what others expect from us isn’t exactly a way to live an honest, healthy life, is it?
