So then I measured my actual (ancient) microwave’s actual power draw with a Kill-A-Watt. 4 W while idle, doesn’t matter if it it’s displaying a clock, flashing, or not displaying anything at all. During cooking, it draws 952 W.

2 years worth of Digital Electronics will make one see the electronic world differently. It’s surprising what all goes on that most don’t know about.
