Or they know that if they do anything besides fill up a cup people will assume that IT is in charge of coffee machines (it has a cord! it has buttons!) and then they will have to “troubleshoot” the coffee being too cold, or too hot, or tastes funny . . .

My response was to buy a bean grinder and french press. It may be more work and I may look like a snob, but it sure as hell beats pouring a cup of coffee and having it taste like… the 6th level of hell. ugh.
