Seriously, a cat dissection lab? ” Cat parts”—-the cat must be an acronym. It can’t be parts from heavy machinery or cut up kitties.

As a Pre-Med student/Biology Lab assistant, I can say that this probably was referring to a cat dissection lab. Speaking from experience, a drain clogged with cat parts is one of the foulest smells.
….Machine parts???? really????

I think by “cat parts” they mean something along the lines of used sanitary napkins, or pads or tampons. It would fit, I think.

Of course you shouldn’t keep your cat parts in the sink! After the vet does his little snip snip, you put them in a jar, carefully preserved, so that little tom cat goes to kitty heaven intact.

Okay, poor white collar people, I’ll solve this crazy mystery. Construction companies use a tiny little digger machine called a “Bobcat.” These cats have a variety of cool attachments that make it a post hole digger, bulldozer, snow plow, grader, digger, pneumatic hammer, etc. They’re damn useful and appeal to men as grownup tonka toys. Cat parts will definitely be repair parts for this machine, and everyone on the site knows it, and they’ve been getting scrubbed in the coffee room sink because there’s no proper shop on site. The office guys are tired of it.

Yeah, that was my first thought, too. Catalytic converters or other mechanical parts. My dad is an engineer and when he does DIY work at home, he always leaves greasy tools and bits of equipment in the sink. Drives my mom nuts.

Idk why this sign would be up in an engineering office, but I’ve seen the same ones in the lab at school. I’m a nursing student and we had to do cat dissections, so saying no cat parts in the sink was, oddly enough, a very helpful thing lol! Not ot be gross, but the fur really does get everywhere haha!

My theory is that one housemate is a trainee mechanic, and they often bring home catalytic converters to clean out/dismantle/remantle/etc.
