Oh, Park Rose, isn’t it strange how brothers can create the best pet peeves? I probably wouldn’t be so irritated by poor grammar if my brother didn’t send me uncapitalized, nonpunctuated, and poorly spelled missives all the time. For a while, I sent them back corrected. Now I just ignore them. I’m that kind of annoying sister. He probably has a pet peeve about people who get upset about grammar.

In this case, the poor grammar caused some confusion for me. I was reading it as “Your (smile) is important to him.”

OK, first of all, it’s not like the United States is made up solely of Atheists and Christians. There’s no reason to assume that the grammar post it came from someone who’s secular. Perhaps there’s a Jewish (or Muslim or Buddhist or etc.) who’s tired of finding notes about how much they need Jesus on their desk.

Secondly, I don’t want anyone rifling around in my desk for *any* reason much less so someone can attempt to convert me.

Third, Andrea is absolutely right. Unless this person wants to deal with harassment claims they need to knock it off.

There is an encoded message in the second note that reads “Lion.” The 18th character, the “L” in “place,” then the “i” in “in,” then the “o” and “n” in “kingdom.” We all know about the shaky relationship Christianity had with lions in the early days. Clearly, this second note is hateful. Passive, aggressive, hateful and fiendishly cryptic.

Not that I judge. I’ve been stung by the Language Police more than once. I also leave snarky notes to people who make mistakes in their own snarkiness. Layer upon layer of hypocrisy! I’m a trypocrit.
