Game of Thorns

Dear Notewriter: Clearly, you’re not a scholar of Indian religious traditions, so just FYI: “Karma” doesn’t translate from the Sanskrit as “sword-wielding mercenary” or “the guy Liam Neeson played in Taken.”

To the asshole who stole my PLANTS: KARMA WILL FIND YOU AND IT WILL KILL YOU!

(Also, the Knight of Flowers is offended by your insinuations.)

Thanks to Hannah in Oakland for submitting!

Karma’s the name of his enforcer. Those were pot plants.

Yeah, that took time. You can just imagine the notewriter lovingly shading in the blade as he imagines spilling the intestines of the plant thief.

It’s entirely possible that Karma is just the notewriter’s hippie sister-in-law. Maybe she worked really hard planting the purloined plants.

Maybe someone needed a shrubbery. You know one that looks nice and not too expensive and there wasn’t a local shrubber around.

Notice that the only letter not capitalized in the note is the letter “I” (“i”). My take on that is the note writer has a serious lack of confidence, and must invoke higher powers to threaten the plant thief.

There is no “I” in Karma.

I love that Buddhist parable where The Buddha takes his sword and slays hundreds of his enemies next to the marketplace in Medina, and …oh, wrong spiritual leader. I’ll bet the Buddha would have taken a break from meditating to hack up a plant-napper too.

I thought the whole point of karma was that it was something that happened to you after you die. It’s only in your next life that you feel the consequences of it.

The definition of Karma is virtually the three-fold system wiccans created roughly in the 50′s. (Yes it was made then any and all witchcraft before that was not wiccan, but “hedge witches” and other assorted covens) In all actuality karma is nothing more than “what goes around comes around”. Too bad it’s all false and in no way actually works. It’s based on your conscience and whatever random/planned happenings happen in your life. (ie the cops find you and arrest you due to work not luck)
