Does anybody else get a cheesed as I do over the iconic “Why Be Normal?” stickers that are attached in the “normal” (in the engineering sense) orientation? I’m willing to concede the orthodoxy of attaching it so that the adhesive is in full contact with the mounting surface, as practicality dictates, but I can’t believe that *everyone* who places one so that the text can be read conventionally does so out of a sense of irony. I’ve only ever seen one that was placed differently (it was rotated just short of 90 degrees clockwise). My first thought was “finally, someone gets it!”

Anybody with half a brain here has already come to grips with the fact that this state will always go Democratic. After all, in Nixon’s landslide victory, Mass. was the ONLY state he didn’t win, electorally.

One great reason for avoiding bumper stickers is the reaction that members of the law enforcement community might have – you never know if the trooper pulling you over just lost a $100 bet against your favorite team, or if his kid got denied admission to your alma mater…
