I think you have those a little confused when it comes to diabetes…… Corn syrup is without question bad for diabetics, as is drinking a regular soda made with can sugar. Artificial sweetener (splenda, aspartame, etc) can be bad, depends on the reports you read, but it likely won’t effect your blood glucose reading.

I rarely comment there because really, there are only so many ways you can say that something is cute (or not cute as the case may be). The silly poetry of NTMTNOM (or whatever he calls himself) is hilarious though, but they rarely let him post anymore.

It’s not even so much that they’re bad for you as the fact that they simply don’t taste as good as the real thing.

Does a spoonful of artificial sugar really taste better than natural brown sugar?
Does orange mystery processed “cheese” that’s not even allowed to be legally called “cheese” really taste better than the real thing?

That does make sense to me, but what I hated about the CO comments was how nasty people could be about it. And there was no reason to be.

And just in case I sound defensive – no, it was never directed at me. I didn’t dare comment there. Lol.

As a person who used to have a blog but now don’t (time constraint), I appreciated reader feedback. If a fact was incorrect; if they hated the site design/commenting system or wanted to see more attention to [thing], that’s the stuff I was glad to hear, and met their wishes.

But I dismissed anything like make the site kid-safe / conservative-safe / grandma-safe or whatever. The site is what I want it to be, and if it doesn’t suit you chances are that there’s a site out there that does. Or you can make your own.

Again, that’s just me and the commenting rules I personally abide by when making comments on other people’s blogs.
