Maybe she could have the party at her apt and charge a cover fee at the door. Both problems solved!

Not for nothin’ but the blurry profile picture makes it look like Amanda Bynes. Which would explain everything.

    The last few months?!
Out The Door Ya Go, Bucky!

I’ve never had anybody go more than two months late on the rent who ever paid a nickel after that point. Not once.
Each one of them was “going to pay tomorrow” the entire time, each with a sob story. One showed up in a NEW CAR!

I think the tenant should crash whatever party the landlord is getting hammered at.

Sounds like the landlord needs to crash that party and demand rent.

I’m wondering if the second person is a landlord or a roommate. Either way, they have terrible grammar.

    To paraphrase a wise man:

A party will get you through times of no money, better than money will get you through times of no party…

This isn’t a grammar Nazi thing, which is nitpicking small typos in informal writing. This is a “stop typing like an idiot” thing.

Is there a title for someone like that, Poltergeist? I’d like to be one.

The title is Literate and Reasonable Person, H.

And for conferring this title upon you, I demand a $5 fee or a pack of Guinness.

I’ll bring over a couple 6-packs of Guiness, and we can bemoan the state of youth today.

Yes, there is a title for that. It’s the “Grammar Bruning”. It’s the precurser to the Grammar Nazi. Not so nasty, but the signs are there.

Tip for all landlords: never, ever let the rent be late for more than a week without sending a written notice. When they get to be more than a month past due, you’re screwed. Roomates with written agreements should do the same. It’s not personal; it’s business.

Or you can be like my landlord – charge a trustworthy tenant an extra $60 for slipping the rent check in the morning after rent was due because the tenant’s mind was elsewhere when hurricane Sandy struck the night before. And then don’t cash the check for another billion years.

It turned out (the one time I spaced and then wasn’t sure if I’d sent in the rent) that my landlord only checked the mail twice a month and couldn’t tell me whether it had arrived. Which explains why they regularly weren’t cashed until 3 weeks after rent was due. I guess.

I thought the UK decimalised their money a long time ago? 4 pennies is rather cheap rent!
