God help our poor submitter, but I’m nominating this crazy rainbow of a note for the passive-aggressive hall of fame. (Prize: a year’s worth of anger-management therapy?)

Laura spotted this punchline of a note (“you know it’s time to move out when…”) at her apartment building in downtown Brooklyn. Or rather, her former apartment building. It’s unclear whether the note-leaver was motivated by recent research suggesting that pictures of eyes may deter crime.

Meanwhile, Kim in Worcester, Massachusetts spotted a convenience store taking a similarly whimsical approach to theft prevention.

Our anonymous submitter in California was having some issues with her roommates not washing their dishes. “It got so bad that I picked up what I thought was a black bowl…only to find it was white and covered in ants,” she says. When asked to clean up after themselves, the roommates responded with a note calling her a bitch. Then came this one — accompanied by someone peeing in her shampoo.

Adds our submitter: “I moved out not too long after that.”

“Our CA (community advisor) posted this friendly note on our bathroom door,” says our submitter, a college student in Milwaukee.

The dorm residents — apparently a libertarian-minded bunch — were pissed about frequent CAD (common area damage) charges for putting recyclables in the trash instead of the mandatory recycling bin. They took a break from ranking up Ron Paul stories on Reddit and Digg to add their two cents here.

Bradley in New York woke up yesterday to find this little love note from his girlfriend. (His explanation? “She’s a light sleeper.”) I feel her pain. If there’s a sound more irritating than a Nokia ring tone, the pathetic “I’m dying” whine of an out-of-juice cell phone just might be it.

Meanwhile, Chris’s friend Michelle doesn’t appreciate having her beauty rest disturbed, either…

Writes an anonymous submitter in New York City: “So, my mom bought me this doormat that says ‘leave.’ You know, haha, funny joke, like the ones that say ‘go away.’ Well, apparently my neighbor didn’t find it too humorous.”

Gina from Santa Cruz lives in a dorm where ten girls share one bathroom. Says gina, “I love saga notes, and feel we need some more of them, so I figured this collection would certainly do the trick.” Indeed, Gina, indeed! According to a 2006 Harris poll, office-workers say annoying ringtones are one of their biggest pet peeves — second only to office loud talkers. So I’m actually surprised we haven’t seen more notes like this one, which Flickr’s Heather Champ found taped to her (chirping) cell phone once upon a time.
