Most Popular Notes of 2010

December 31st, 2010 · 89 Comments

As it turns out, a lot of the notes that ya’ll liked best were more “aggressive” than “passive-aggressive.” (So, suck it haterz — the people have spoken!)

Which note would you choose as the most epic of 2010? Which notes should have been on the list, but aren’t? Cast your votes in the comments!

Thanks for making me risk MY life to feed YOUR addiction!

December 27th, 2010 · 196 Comments

Writes Justin in Salem, Massachusetts: “It was the middle of the recent blizzard and we had gone for a drive in the worst of the weather (because that’s what you do for fun when you drive a Jeep) and decided to stop for a cup of coffee at Dunkin’ Donuts” (because that’s what you do for fun if you’re a New Englander).

Upon arrival, Justin and his companion were greeted with this heartfelt note of congratulations from the Dunkin’ Donuts snowstorm staff (Rick).

YOU HAVE RISKED YOU'RE [sic] LIFE FOR A CUP OF COFFEE! Congrats xoxo Love, The Dunk's Staff (Rick)

Man... You're *always* whining about how busy you are... Seriously, it's like *every* status update I see with your name on it is like *ehhh [redacted] is so busy blahaaeeehh* or something...We're all fucking busy man.

Poultry Slam

November 24th, 2010 · 52 Comments

When Lola was 7, she says, “Our class assignment was to write a story about our favorite Thanksgiving memories. I wrote this…and then proudly presented it to my Grandmother as a gift.”

A tourkeys ideae of thanksgiving is murder, vialance, and death. Turkeys think of thanksgiving as a war. So keep this in mind, and remember what turkeys think of thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Need another reason to ditch the elevator for the stairs? Two words: nose grease.

November 19th, 2010 · 67 Comments

Our submitter, April, fills us in on a little background: The CMB building on the UT-Austin campus is home to Austin’s local PBS station, KLRU, and NPR affiliate, KUT, as well as classrooms for the University’s Radio-TV-Film department.

Apparently, one of the jokers frequenting this building is fond of pressing his or her nose on the surface of the stainless steel elevator doors — or at least that’s the conclusion drawn by the exasperated author of the following screed.

Hey guy who draws on the elevator doors every day with his nose grease. I just thought I'd drop you a line and tell you about the sunshine that you bring me every day. Y'know sometimes I come in to work with a frown on my face because of the heady political and social times we are living through. I'll be all cloudy and stormy as I walk into CMB but then, what do I see? I see a wonderful and original work of art that's drawn on the stainless steel doors of both elevators. Yes, it doesn't even matter which one I get on because you (as a true artist) have taken full advantage of every canvas that is offered to you.

And heaven forbid a man even imagine cleaning a toilet himself…

November 13th, 2010 · 60 Comments

Katrina‘s husband spotted this sign in the men’s room of his office in Roswell, Georgia, shortly before the boss ordered it taken down. (The “…or I will cut you” part of the manager’s removal directive was implied, obviously. Because that’s just how they do things around there.)

GENTLEMAN use these restrooms as if your wife had to clean them. And not some strange black lady with a knife. Thank you

Some advice for would-be pumpkin smashers

October 30th, 2010 · 50 Comments

In Ohio, one household tries the proactive approach to preventing Halloween thuggery:

Instead of stealing/breaking our Halloween decorations, perhaps you could try the following activities! 1. Start an emo band 2. learn to read 3. paint a self portrait 4. build a house 5. dig for treasure that may or may not be buried in the park 6. walk around walmart 7. recreate the Battle of Gettysburg in the street 8. find your real father 9. ride a bike 10. give back the bike you probably stole See, there are plenty of things to do besides vandalize creativity! Have fun kids, and remember, knowing is half the battle.

(We’ll have to wait to hear back from our submitter Darcy to see if it worked.)

Park on my privates again? No!

October 25th, 2010 · 128 Comments

Lisa from Toronto doesn’t try to hide the fact that this note was, uh, not exactly undeserved. “On a long weekend in Grand Bend, my boyfriend squeezed into a parking spot which partially placed his front tires on the edge of someone’s lawn,” she says. But if Lisa and her bf lost any sleep over their vehicular faux pas — and I’m guessing they didn’t — it seems like this note, which Lisa called “amazing,” would more than make up for it. Okay!

Why you bad park? No ticket! I have for son dealer plate! You ok? Fuck you guy! Okay! Park on my privates again? No! Bad park you.

A not-so-subtle clue that your coworker isn’t interested in cubicle small talk

October 24th, 2010 · 92 Comments

Writes our submitter in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania: “A woman in my office was recently relocated to a new cubicle, apparently against her will. I don’t really know her, but I guess now I know not what not to use as an ice breaker!”

YES THIS IS MY NEW HOME (FOR NOW) YES THE SPACE IS SMALLER YES IT'S A LONGER WALK TO THE COPIER YES IT'S A SHORTER WALK TO THE BATHROOM NO I'M NOT SETTLED IN NO I HAVEN'T ADJUSTED YET NO IT'S NOT QUIETER NO I DON'T KNOW WHY
