The stall-sanitizing shimmy

September 29th, 2013 · 50 Comments

Leah spotted this note in the changing area at Colman Pool in Seattle, a city she describes as “the epicenter of passive-aggressive communication.” Adds Leah: “I like the image of the kid’s shimmying out under the stall door as being a nifty method of floor cleaning. It’s both disgusting and passive-aggressive in the extreme!”

To the kid who locks the stall door and crawls out under the door: Thank you for using your swimsuit to mop dirt, germs, and wet toilet paper off of our restroom floor. We appreciate the extra help keeping the facility clean. If you would like to volunteer for more dirty jobs, please come visit us at the office. We have plenty of other tasks, like cleaning hair balls from the drains and scraping gum off the deck, which we would be happy to train you to do. Thanks! Colman Pool Staff

Apparently, Von says, somebody at the Homeowners Association got fed up with kids swimming in and jumping off of a decorative fountain at the neighborhood swimming pool, so the Board of Directors put up this sign. “The funny part,” he says, “is that the water from the fountain flows directly into the actual pool.”  (No word on how long it took the kids to figure that one out.)

And then there’s this…

This is posted at the city pool. The children now live in fear.

THIS LOCKER ROOM IS A NUDITY-FREE ZONE

September 15th, 2011 · 183 Comments

“My kids take swim lessons at Tyler Junior College, and we have to go through the women’s locker room to access the pool,” writes Jennifer in Texas. “Something tells me that some of the ladies here in the Bible Belt don’t appreciate seeing their fellow females displaying the full glory of God’s creation, if you get my drift.”

Just because your nakedness is not uncomfortable for you does not mean that others have the same viewpoint. Let Us ALL RESPECT Each Other.

PLEASE DO NOT AIR DRY Some people (especially students & children) are more modest than others and we should all RESPECT each other.

Are you enjoying the last few weeks of swimmin’ pool season, kids?  Tom in Fayetteville, Arkansas was…until he saw the 11th commandment posted nearby.

Anyone who has or has had diarrhea in the past two (2) weeks shall not use the pool

And if that doesn’t make you want to suit up and dive in…

Children not toilet trained or have skin lesions, communicable disease, open sores, boils, colds, nasal or ear discharge are not admitted within pool enclosure.
