This song is haunting me day and night.

♫ filled with stars cover the skies
And I hope it rains, you’re the perfect lullaby
    What kinda dream is this?……..
You can be a sweet dream or a beautiful nightmare
Either way I don’t wanna wake up from you….♫

Is it tune? is it lyrics? dunno but it’s haunting me.

RE: those shows – I never thought that the way someone kept their house could affect their performance on the job – unless they worked at home, of course.

My BL’s house is so filthy it literally put her in the ICU for two weeks earlier this year. She was off work for a month.
If she continues to live in her home in its present state, she’ll end up in the hospital again. That means we underlings will have to work overtime. Since we’re funded by grants, there is no OT in the budget. If she starts calling in sick again, the shelter could go bankrupt trying to pay the OT. We might all lose our jobs.

Dave a engineer I publicly called out for being weak of will in decision making and in moral fortitude. Has become the Chief engineer for another group. He came to my boss last week and said that he does not want me to work on any of his groups projects. I am qualified to do so but he doesn’t want me to. MY boss did not stand up to him and tell him to mind his own business. Now I wonder how this will play out.

I want him to get a stroke and forget everything. But be forced into a lesser job. Poor poor Dave he once was chief.

He managed a few people once. One of his people was fucking the cleaning woman. Everyone knew. He claimed he didn’t. I told him he was a shitty boss because of it.

I have considered two options: 1. A post-it note by the snarky note saying “Why did you write this? Not cool.” 2. A letter telling her I think her note is unprofessional and unfounded, and things like that and the constant stream of comments she makes under her breath make for an unpleasant work environment and do not motivate me to go out of my way to be helpful.

I have already done option 3: both, but they are reversible at this point.

One of my friends always says that if he won the lottery, he’d drive past his work and throw his work keys through the front door.

Oh, here’s a new one. I agreed to work in the kitchen on Tuesday because we were full and needed the other baker to housekeep. This gave me six days this week. The BL offered to work my shift today, but if I had done that, I would lose 2 hours as baking is 6 hours and innkeeping is 8, so I declined her offer. I go to look at the posted schedule and I find the BL has written a note by my name on Sunday: “6th day by choice”. While I often moan about working to you guys, I DO NOT moan about working to my boss. I work the hours I am scheduled. If I am asked to work more, I work more if I feel it wouldn’t be too many hours. If I feel it’s too many hours, I ask to be off another day, or I decline the hours. If I am called off, I don’t complain about too few hours. If I am asked to work late, I do it, schedule permitting. What possible reason could she have to write that on the schedule? As though I’m a moaner who has to be pre-emptively silenced? Fuck her.

    OK, I cave.

The latest from the BL: she took a reservation in May for many rooms and a luncheon. She reserved the rooms under the name “1st (Denominational) Church”, made a note that the lunch would be catered by the caterers next door, and that the contact’s name is Laurie. No address, no phone, no e-mail. In June, “Laurie” called and added more rooms. Last week, “Laurie” called and cancelled a few rooms. At neither time did the innkeepers who talked to her (not me) notice that we did not have any information. Well, these rooms are being held for Friday night, we have no names and the caterers next door have never heard of this event. Guess who’s fault this mess is? That’s right, the other two innkeepers. How could they not get contact information when they talked to her? Guess what the BL is going to do to handle the situation? Nothing. She doesn’t work again until Saturday at 3 pm, when it will all be safely over.

I tried not to go on about. Sorry.

I hope it’s not too hard. ‘Howl’ is a great poem, but that’s about all the Ginsberg I know, though I’ve read his letters. Tell her he slept with Neal Cassady – or got up to hanky panky anyway – the main character of On the Road was based on Cassady (you probably know that) – maybe it will interest her. Burroughs was a dope fiend and Kerouac was hopped up on bennies (do I know what I’m talking about…no, I do not). Ciao…

At work, my love, and it’s getting colder. The typhoon blew all the summer out of the skies. Not freezing yet, though. Mornings are lovely, afternoons overcast and cloudy.

I think about 80% of the thread is often movie quotes (which I don’t usually get), especially if mark or imo are out to play. Keeps the joint hopping, though I try not to make a fool of myself by answering them.

are you on the graveyard shift, and did your daughter (?) comprehend the sixties?

No doubt…Of course since 90% of my comments are movie quotes that no one understands or remembers, I’m good with the whole thing..

How are things on that side of the world, Rose.?

I answered him. Psychosis, huh? Well, at least it wasn’t neuroses. Though that might have been more apt in my case. I think the Carrie comment triggered him ;) I’m taking it as one of those backhander comments, y’know?

I am very fond of chai, Rilla. But not the chai from concentrate that you get at the coffee shops so much. Usually too sweet. I like to brew my own. Stash makes a good chai.

that’s my fave! which (mysteriously) no one seems to carry locally. :?

Well, I’m kind of unfocused with the knitting. I’m finishing the socks for The Motorcycle, starting a new pair for myself, and also knitting something that I don’t know what it is yet.
