Oooh, there’s a Ms. CB now? :) So a little shake rattle and roll… I wonder if Ti O felt anything.

(((Rose))), yes, unfortunately chances are 99.9999% that “your” driveway destroyed my muffler. Or more precisely, where the muffler joins with the other exhaust bits. I think next time we meet I will park on the “main” street and walk up the driveway to get you.
Glad to hear you’re fitting right into Seattle life, finding favorite bakeries and greengrocers and all. Note that I work about 2 blocks from Pike Place Market, so if you find yourself there on a weekday we could meet up for lunch or something. And I like paneer too.

(((Glo))), I hate licorice but I like cilantro just fine. I do find it tastes a little soapy, which is a common complaint, but I don’t find that overpowering and it does add a nice note to many different foods. And I would LOVE it if you brought some sharp cheddar. The sharper the better. Though the curds that you brought before were very tasty. And my car is a 1998 Honda Civic, but it only has like 78k miles on it. So the engine is still very young, though the body is showing its age. For example, some moss is growing in the window well.

    Hi ‘glo, still around?

I haven’t tried those licorices, but they sound delish. I”m eating field mushrooms and button mushrooms, cooked up in olive oil, by me, with fennel (fresh), corriander (cilantro), salt, boconccini (excuse spelling – mozarella) and tomato on the carraway-free rye from the superb little bakery that is just a river’s walk away. Mmm. I bought some sweet things from them this morning too. Yummy.

I like Swiss cheese, and my favourite cheese are Jarlsberg and Ermanthal (excuse sp again) – I get a bit phlegmy and all like but, so I try not to eat them too much. I don’t like sharp hard cheeses, and hate the big slabs of cheddar that my dad used to try to get me to eat when I was a kid. I bought some curds from Beechers, though, in the Pike Market the other day. Wonderful. I love curds. I think Indian Paneer is the same thing. I love paneer, too. Have I blathered enough? I’ve had two walks today and got rained on once.

Love anise, love fennel, love love love licorice. I will eat all your black jelly beans if rose doesn’t beat me to them. Rose, have you ever had Swedish licorice pastilles, like Lakerol or Gajol? Super-strong, and many salty varieties. Yum.

I don’t think caraway tastes like licorice, but maybe I’m not a taster for licorice, so I’ll take a licorice-hater’s word for it. Do you licorice haters also hate cilantro?

I like dark non-caraway rye better than caraway rye but will eat both. Favorite bread is sourdough or a chewy-crusted white.

Cumin tastes smoky to me, and I can take it or leave it. Smokey isn’t my favorite.

Sorry you have such expensive car repairs, Mark. Your car is getting on in years now, isn’t she? The time is probably drawing near my friend. :(

Oh, hello, it’s me again with a few opinions.

Mark, was that from the driveway here? *fret*. Probably.

Caraway is okay, but not in bread. Yes, it looks like cummin and has a strong taste like the whole cumin seeds, but you know, I expect to taste cumin when I cook it up whole with garlic and so on before putting it in my food. When rye bread smacks me over the head with caraway seed when not expecting it, big le sigh.

I always put star anise, or fennel in my pasta sauce. It gives it a really nice subtle flavour. I wouldn’t compare caraway to it. I love licorice, though. Give all your black jellybeans to me.

I just bought a huge raw? fresh? fennel heart? from the greengrocers. And lots of plants.

They’re made slightly differently here. The cross is usually made of dough in Oz, and hugely popular, so, even though expensive, because of the spices and all that go into them, a lot cheaper. I think Australia has the biggest consumers in the world of chocolate Easter eggs. Interesting to see how low-key it is here, but I know I comment on this all the year.

We are damned, (((Mark))). I never got the consummation of the body of Christ, but it makes for good horror flicks and such. Plus, it makes us all a little bit fucked up and interesting – or inneresting ;) Being Catholic, that is.
    Consummation in other ways can be good, though :twisted;
Are swaying skyscrapers good or bad? The swaying of bridges and such in Japan was for earthquakes.

I’m on Safari, oi. Do Macs support other systems?

Yeah, it’s rainy and windy here. I can actually feel the building move a little. Yay properly engineered skyscrapers.

I got nuthin’ on the new note, for now. I’m sure someone’ll post something I can piggyback on before too long. Damn Catholics. ;) And yeah, back in my day the priest was supposed to drink the extra blood of Christ, like a good cannibal. Dumping it down the sink or on the ground would be equally “repugnant”.

Yes, the politics involvled in all that seems pretty loopy, but the loopies seem to get the airtime.

Put a blanket on the window, come on back to bed, one of my favourite Paul Kelly songs, difficult to find on youtube. But it is wind-blowing gale-like outside. I should be in bed. I haven’t gone for a walk yet, but will be braceable soon.

I love the word scallyway, oi.

wade, how did you get upside down?

glo, could you post that slide show you had up a fair while ago of old buidlings in Detroit? I’d like to send it to a friend. If you can remember.

Wade, if we died of boredom with you, it would only be because you resemble Sartre and Camus, and all the left-bankers with your eruditeness (eruditity), sophistication, and ability to pull Simone du Bouvier

OMG, CB. Some of the tea-party knitters are completely around the bend. Some have posted that they have been advised to pull their money out of the bank before the government seizes it! Because we have new health-care rules, apparently we have gone full-Commie and personal property is going to cease to exist.

What’s with these Tea-Baggers wanting to “take their country back”?

Take it back from whom? Didn’t we have a fair election.

Reminds me of the South at the end of reconstruction.

OK, I’m done…Just saying that those who do not know history are condemned to repeat it.

No response necessary…just getting some crap off my chest.

    Good morning, CIFs :)

I think I slept in 10 minute increments last night. Got some sort of weird sinus thing going on. As soon as I’d relax into a deep sleep, huge snore, wake myself up. :\

All in all though, still it’s going to be a good day. YOQI got the chiller filled yesterday, so we have air conditioning, and working with Margie, and going to see my knitting friend in the hospital after work.

It’s Friday, and it’s going to be Good.

Your work talk fascinates me, though. No way was I as accomplished at the same age.

My “translation” is below. I’m sure it’s not 100% correct.

Do you want  that one translated? I think I can do it.

ah, oi if yer joost havin’ a wee haver oan, dinnae mind me! Ah dinnae mean tae git crabbit with ye. Ah dinnae av’ a ken oan whit maist young scallywags and bairns are oan aboot maist o’ the time anyway!

ah, oi, if you are just having me on a little, don’t mind me! I didn’t mean to get crabby with you. I don’t have a clue about what most young scallywags and bairns are on about most of the time anyway.

I’m not sure about the whole thread it was posted in, but bairn is usually child, though maybe used for women as well, but I think that’s more likely to be ‘hen’. Scallywags are just larrikins, or kids that like to have a bit of fun.
Having me on, means fooling me, tricking me, mucking about.
“I don’t know what you’re on about!”, my response to one of ty’s posts :) Ty, I know you read this, so take it in the spirit of benevolent befuddlement ♥

    Probably overexplaining again.

I think. Wish my lovely Scottish friends in NZ and Japan could help :) or I could remember.

Seattle’s very beautiful, at least where I’m hanging out, though not everyone thinks so. Interesting. Everyone is so friendly. It’s like they’ve laced the water with something. I bought some flowers at a local nursery today to plant. Very interesting people about. Cold today, though, but I’m walking in a short while. Did your work stuff get sorted?

Farting in one of those would be awful. Farting in a regular snuggie is kind of cool because you can actually shot the aroma out of your sleeves, but dutch ovens aren’t any fun when you do them to yourself.
