jonny quest was my all time favorite cartoon as a kid (i watched the original when it first aired. i am old).

they made some more in the 80’s, with a rock dude who was an obvious fantastic 4 the thing rip off

then came the absolutely hideous 90’s remake, that was re-tooled into a halfway decent remake before going off the air again

    so to re-cap

    old old jq = 1337

    new new jq = ok

    new old jq = meh

    old new jq = suxxasaur

yay for johnny bravo, power puff girls, dexter (not that one, beans), space ghost coast-to-coast

It is probably the only thing that raises my hackles quickly….I guess that is why I so enjoy putting on an Irish or British accent when I talk to these fools…I love the color their faces turn.

I have used the “no hablo ingles” routine before. once to get out of a extremely minor fender bump and once to get rid of a intoxicated male bar fly…

Johnny Quest episode with the nasty things that looked like single eye spiders…gave me nightmares for weeks…

purple jension (no idea how to spell) is what all the engineers use to dye themselves purple for frosh week and homecoming. it takes a long time to wear off, especially if it gets on the teeth. they all look like the undead minus being half eaten for a week after.

i don’t remember much of johnny quest, although i used to watch it as a lass in virginia. and johnny bravo.

One of my great-uncles died in WW1, so it’s pretty amazing that his sister, my great aunt Margaret (we called her Mag) lived until I was about 25, I think. My nan, the youngest, lived to 96, but she suffered from dementia. Anyway…

I’m glad that the crazy is still around, ‘glo. Oh, and I see you said aunts, not great aunts. My reading skills are atrocious.

    At work? Baking already?

My Crazy aunts are my mom’s sisters, rose. And yes, I have fewer stories to tell these days. Luckily the craziest aunt is still around. My last great aunt died a few years back. She was a cool lady. I never met any great aunts/uncles on my dad’s side; I believe there were a few in the area, but that family is not one for close contact.

Is the coffee starting to take effect, Wade?

There is a Paul Kelly song, (he’s an Australian singer), called ‘Adelaide’ which I think he penned when he was in his twenties. Adelaide is his home town and kind of turgid – it has the great line
All the great aunts are either insane or dead
You probably have to listen to the whole thing to get an idea of the song. A little snapshot. I can direct you to where you can hear it if interested.

My mum’s brother is still alive. Another died when he was 27. My Dad’s family is all step-brothers and sisters, or half. I never knew them too well. But out of 2 step-aunts one is dead, as is my step-uncle. My dad’s half sister (much younger) is still alive. On his side some of my great aunts might still be alive.

all my great aunts/uncles died before i was born or when i was little

and all my aunts/uncles (except my mom’s younger brother and his wife) passed away around the same time in the mid-1990’s

You appreciate the stories they provide you with, ‘glo, or are they the immediate aunts? I don’t have any great ones left, I think.

You know, darling, if you stopped drinking the coffee altogether, you wouldn’t have these headaches in the morning.

Well, you wouldn’t have them after the month-long headache that you get trying to get off the caffeine. ;)

    Good evening, rose.

What is wrong with these people on the Main Thread making fun of Crazy Aunts? Now that I’m down to only two, I really appreciate them. Humph.

no – this class prefers more obscure and not actually good artists. but maybe i’ll sneak her in. i told my mum to write a letter to an art magazine so i ca write about her. i very much do not care about school anymore.

there are two reasons i wish i smoked pot right now.

the first is i have cramps (no wonder i’ve been such a nut-case)

the second is we could make lots of fun jokes about baked beans
