can I come running in, panting, and give you a hug, too? though it seems you are not in need of exuberance, but some of this tomato soup I have?

glo, sorry to hear it… I was wondering at the terseness, but didn’t want to pry. I’ll wander back to my planning, too, it’s going well. You are the best. Don’t forget it. Even in your sweats.

Thanks, glo. I just took some echinacea (sp?) which usually works pretty well, and the tomato soup will help too. If I get my planning done well and good, and stop feeling slothful and so forth, it will help.

I think I’ve got to get used to calling it the H1N1 as everyone I know in education across three countries is… I guess you say ‘aitch-one, en-one’ right? It’s sweeping through Niigata, apparently. Maybe it is just as well that I don’t follow the news much. Our college has only had one case though, I think. I hope you don’t have it. But Fan had it, apparently.

My mom, my older sister, and Nephew the Elder have all had something that very likely was swine flu (refuse to call it H1N1, how lame-ass). So maybe I will get it too, hooray!

Sorry for the delay, Wade. I was getting caught up over at my knitting site, because there was a thread about getting rid of a spammer for a lesbian dating site and all hell broke loose when someone asked that the tags the spammer added to the group be deleted with all the posts.

What’s wrong with that, you ask? The poor person said that the tags lesbian, kiss, girl, and dating weren’t appropriate in, for instance, the American Girls knitting group, which is aimed at pre-teens and teens.

You see, Teh Gheys don’t like it when you try to “sanitize” the site of the “non-sexual” word lesbian.

Hoo boy. Some people are just itching to be offended and persecuted, you know?

Thanks, oi. I really enjoyed that. I love the tabla and her voice is very soft. There is one point in the song that strangely enough reminds me of a point in a Joan Baez song (covering Bob Dylan). I’ll post it in a minute (if I can find it).

I know she’s not Indian, but Umm Kulthum and her orchestra were admired by Led Zeppelin. You can hear the kind of influence in a lot of their songs. Robert Plant has a good voice, too.

Again, I know you haven’t read it, but I loved “A Suitable Boy” for all of the information it had on raga(s) and so on. I’m just a dilettante, but I really like the tabla, and also that spoken voice-chatting kind of music.

‘glo, I wonder if this Rod Stewart is age-old in all cultures ;) [can't find the original, but there are plenty of parodies].

    Translation is here…

    Don’t insist on leaving today
    Keep sitting beside me.
    Don’t insist on leaving today
else I shall die, I shall be looted.
    Please don’t talk like this.
    Don’t insist on leaving today.

    Give it a thought,
    why shouldn’t stop you?
    When you leave,
    life goes out of me.
    For your own sake, beloved
Just listen to this one plea,
    don’t insist on leaving today,
    keep sitting beside me.
    Don’t insist on leaving today.

Life is trapped in time’s bars,
just a few solitary moments are free.
And if you lose them too, my beloved,
    you shall keep craving forever.
    Don’t insist on leaving today,
    keep sitting beside me.
    Don’t insist on leaving today.

What an innocent hueful meeting this is
of beauty and love, they rule today.
Who knows what lies in tomorrow,
Let’s make this night stand still.
    Don’t insist on leaving today,
    keep sitting beside me.
    Don’t insist on leaving today.

    Hi wo,
    I really had good time.

i pretended that Peter Cetera was my music idol and I knew his each song by heart. I sang along and whoohooed/jumped so hard after each of his performance that the guy next to me told me he was very surprised t discover young fans like me . After all he is 65 years old. ha!
    Mission success!
Truth of matter is that I never heard him before.

David is a very entertaining anchor he kept the stage alive. had fun.
I won the ticket at the work. and they did not disclose the whose concert it was like last minute.

Why is it that bosses can be so awful? Why can’t they admit their part in problems? I hate that.

glo, I so sympathize…Boss man came in this morn telling me about a couple that lodged an interweb bitch about the housekeepers coming into the room before 11… They wrote that I had made light of the issue and they wanted an immediate refund of not one but all 3 days they were there. even though the incident was only on thier last day…. Big production over nada….blech…Have a kaluha and cream and a croisant with butter and jelly…it will make you smile…

In my highly over caffeinated state, I would kick her nasty behind for you, glo. Don’t cry. She’d enjoy it too damn much.
