American Gods is great … and not just because a large-ish portion is set right around me (At House on the Rock, State street in Madison, and CULVER’S!)

  • #47599  fantasy on May 6, 2008 at 9:58 am

hee hee hee Wade, I love these laughs in the morning.

  • #47598  Wade on May 6, 2008 at 9:54 am

*adds american gods to reading list*

    mortician training ;)

  • #47597  unholyghost2003 on May 6, 2008 at 9:50 am

lol fantasy Oh LORD! my lol was about you trying to take the guy’s job not you being an orphan!

Wade, I think that was a line in “American Gods” maybe? when the Egyptian gods of embalming became morticians when they come to the US

  • #47596  fantasy on May 6, 2008 at 9:50 am

EEEWWW! Wade, I don’t even attend funerals unless it is a parent, and they are all gone. I am an official orphan! :D

  • #47595  fantasy on May 6, 2008 at 9:48 am

I laughed at the guy. So he says “Well what would you want to do?” very sarcastic.
I said “I think your job looks pretty good.”

He didn’t help me find a job. *wonder why?*

  • #47594  Wade on May 6, 2008 at 9:46 am

well, at least as a mortician you wouldn’t have to worry about job security. :P

  • #47593  unholyghost2003 on May 6, 2008 at 9:45 am

My friend’s son wanted to be a Mortician for a long time … very strange

  • #47592  fantasy on May 6, 2008 at 9:42 am

I just love these mornings of not having to rush, I wonder what I want to do next??

One time I took a test at the employment office, they said I would make a good MORTICIAN!?

I could not believe it. Saw the test results myself? Is that what they do with people they can’t put in a category?

  • #47591  Wade on May 6, 2008 at 9:38 am

    bye Mishee

i may still be around when you log back in

  • #47590  fantasy on May 6, 2008 at 9:34 am

Yes Wade fun Times, Thank You Grandma, You left enough to cover Mom’s butt with IRS…….

  • #47589  Wade on May 6, 2008 at 9:32 am

well, since he buried paper money… it is probably a soggy, decomposed mess by now

i remember you talking about that, fantasy. fun times. :|

  • #47588  Mishee on May 6, 2008 at 9:30 am

Gotta shut down and head out…

Be back in about 30 - hope someone waits up for me!! ;)

  • #47587  Mishee on May 6, 2008 at 9:28 am

I’ve never had a problem with the direct deposit… This one isn’t actually late until after Friday, but I was hoping I would get lucky!!

  • #47586  fantasy on May 6, 2008 at 9:27 am

My Grandma used to hide money in the yard too. I still sometimes wonder if they are still finding it?
When my Mom passed I found 30,000 in stock no one knew about! I ended up with boxes of paperwork clear back to my great grandparents, it has been a year and I am still not finished.

  • #47585  unholyghost2003 on May 6, 2008 at 9:25 am

I still take paper checks from the Guvment. I just don’t trust those bastards. I’m with you fantasy!

  • #47584  Mishee on May 6, 2008 at 9:24 am

Hell, if I had a backyard it would be safe I am sure, but I don’t keep track of what I spend, so I never use cash that way I can review my bank balance to see what I wasted my money on when I run out!

  • #47583  Wade on May 6, 2008 at 9:23 am

    LOL, fantasy

my dad’s uncle didn’t trust banks (this was back in the 30’s) and buried money in his back yard … and would forget where he buried it.

last i heard his yard is under the parking lot of a hardware store. :P

  • #47582  fantasy on May 6, 2008 at 9:22 am

    Mishee,

If you lived away from the city you could trust your back yard!

  • #47581  Mishee on May 6, 2008 at 9:21 am

send some of those pills over this way! :)

  • #47580  fantasy on May 6, 2008 at 9:20 am

*busy, digging up yard trying to find where she buried the money? darn pills!*

  • #47579  Mishee on May 6, 2008 at 9:18 am

hey fantasy! why don’t you join us here in the 21st century? Come on over!! :D

  • #47578  Wade on May 6, 2008 at 9:18 am

the desire for self-preservation is highly developed in this town, Mishee. administrations come and go, but the bureaus grind on :|

  • #47577  fantasy on May 6, 2008 at 9:15 am

*omg, i still use checks i don’t trust them to do as i say*

  • #47576  Mishee on May 6, 2008 at 9:14 am

oh come on now, you really think they ALL would run out?? A few would hole up there to die with their files!

  • #47575  Wade on May 6, 2008 at 9:09 am

but if i scare off all the rats, who will deposit your money :D

  • #47574  Mishee on May 6, 2008 at 9:05 am

Direct deposit (people still ask for checks?? OMG!)

Maybe tomorrow, it’s not there today so it won’t appear later in the day… let’s hope, otherwise it’s not until Friday since they don’t do deposits on Thurs.

Why don’t you go down to the HQ over there and bang on the doors for me? Or better yet, throw that big ass lighted votive through the window and see how many rats run out!! LOL

  • #47573  Wade on May 6, 2008 at 9:03 am

    well, i’m no god, but i ♥ y’all :D

  • #47572  fantasy on May 6, 2008 at 9:00 am

    No Mishee,

It is “does Richard Simmons Love you! ” :P

  • #47571  Wade on May 6, 2008 at 8:59 am

one step at a time, Mishee

are you getting your check by direct deposit or in the mail? maybe it will get to you today.

*drags out super-sized votive… because government bureaucracy is involved :P *

  • #47570  unholyghost2003 on May 6, 2008 at 8:58 am

If I have it backwards doesn’t that mean that it only mattes if Dog loves me? If so then I am GOLDEN!

  • #47569  fantasy on May 6, 2008 at 8:58 am

Well That is sooo funny Ghosty ♥

    I love it!

I was married before I graduated! ;) hahaha!

I did things a little ass backwards though! Glad I did now! There were moments though? doubts always creep in don’t they? I will answer that , Yep! :)

Oh No, I am answering my own questions now? 8O

  • #47568  Mishee on May 6, 2008 at 8:57 am

ugh, you got it backwards, it doesn’t matter if you love God, it only matters if God loves you!!

  • #47567  unholyghost2003 on May 6, 2008 at 8:53 am

LOL Wade, I guess we are “special” ;)
fantasy, it is very important that you are engaged before you graduate. You don’t want to be a spinster do you? Then you get married within two weeks or so of graduation and if all goes according to plan and you love God you are expecting your first child by the time your first Homecoming as alumni rolls around.

LOL Mishee, yup working overtime, swing shift AND day shift. Mishee, you brighten MY day and if THAT isn’t a reason to live I don’t know what is ;)

  • #47566  fantasy on May 6, 2008 at 8:51 am

I give myself points everyday, just because I am here for those who I happen to encounter! If I see no one then Yay, a day for points just for being me! ;)

I will not correct mistakes while medicated anymore!

  • #47565  Mishee on May 6, 2008 at 8:51 am

Right now at this point in my life, it seems like every single thing I do is pointless. I feel like I really don’t have a purpose here and that I am just once again in limbo with my life (because of my own fuckup, yes, but limbo nonetheless)

It just sucks, cause every time I feel like things are going a little better something like this shit happens… it’s my own fault for not planning for it in advance, but I was counting on that check so I spent the money I was gonna save and I should’ve done it the other way around.

  • #47564  fantasy on May 6, 2008 at 8:48 am

    Mishee,

Rule #1 If you want to really live with no regrets “nothing is pointless”! ;)

  • #47563  Mishee on May 6, 2008 at 8:46 am

Heya Wadester and fantasy - I’m surviving… barely.

Right now Mr. Mishee is pissy to me cause I was planning on using my Stimulus check to help pay the rent and it didn’t come yesterday so he had to cover it (in our current situation he is keeping our finances separate) and so now he’s all ticked off…

Other than that, just trying to make it through another pointless week.

  • #47562  fantasy on May 6, 2008 at 8:45 am

    Good Morning Mishee ♥

How are you doin’ down there where the sun always shines??? ;)

  • #47561  Wade on May 6, 2008 at 8:44 am

    hey Mishee

    how are you this morning?

  • #47560  Mishee on May 6, 2008 at 8:42 am

    Good morning kiddos…

Wow ugh, you are early today!! Trying to work off some of your many earned demerits I presume?

  • #47559  Wade on May 6, 2008 at 8:39 am

oooh, uhg. don’t you hate it when people try to squeeze you into their worldview :P

look at it this way. despite all that 1950’s crap, you still found each other… and that makes it extra special ;)

  • #47558  fantasy on May 6, 2008 at 8:39 am

Ring by Spring? haha I have never heard that one before.

But I have only attended community college in the 70’s, 80’s, and still just was playing. For me though I was taking courses like personal finance, P.E., Water color painting….fun stuff! :P
I wanted to play in the Orchestra so I went mainly for music. Just fun stuff too!

Had fun though!! I thought that was what I was there for! Didn’t party much because I had children but did make some good friends!

  • #47557  unholyghost2003 on May 6, 2008 at 8:29 am

    Bye Ames!

Wade, yeah, mine is a private school … in the late 90’s early 00’s. They had some (IMHO) backwards ideas. In addition to the usual “by the time you graduate 2/3 of you will have dropped out or failed out” stuff for Freshman orientation we were also told to look around for our future spouse so that we might breed future generations of students. :P and all the stupid women who were all “Ring by Spring!” … it still rankles that I met MrUHG there. I hate saying they were right about any of that crap.

  • #47556  Wade on May 6, 2008 at 8:26 am

have a good day, hon :D

  • #47555  fantasy on May 6, 2008 at 8:25 am

    amy,

That is great I will be over for a visit. I want to remark on the front porch one with the hidden cat! I was seeing that? Or maybe asleep? hhhmmm…Well  anyway I will go look.
    Bye amy ♥

  • #47554  amy d on May 6, 2008 at 8:24 am

Wel, you can’t go back and change that now. You did what you did. You are now doing what the doctor has suggested and that’s what counts. I just meant that I am nervous for my fantasy to be through the surgery and recouperating. Worrying about people is exhausting. :-

I got to head out now. Ya’ll have a great day!

  • #47553  Wade on May 6, 2008 at 8:22 am

LOL, uhg… mine was a state university, and we had similar rules (regularly bent and broken… it was the late ’70’s ;) )

ah the joys of in loco parentis

    have a safe commute, (((amy)))

  • #47552  fantasy on May 6, 2008 at 8:20 am

Amy, the surgery should have already happened instead I ignored things and was living on Aleve until I could hardly walk and could not work. Dumb choice on my part. I can rememner going from running to Yoga to cutting down classes and trying to stay with pilates and yoga, all the time in denial! I guess I should have said something to ‘glo, she would have made me see it! Do you remember back a few hundred pages I was talking to Rose ♥ about swimming? That was when I was not doing too well. Dumb of me! :P

  • #47551  amy d on May 6, 2008 at 8:16 am

Fantasy, I was a pie taking dervish yesterday!
I have been rking on them this morning, so some are up with mor come.

  • #47550  unholyghost2003 on May 6, 2008 at 8:16 am

fantasy, I have no doubt you will be up and doing triathlons before long! (((HUGS!)))

  • #47549  amy d on May 6, 2008 at 8:15 am

I can’t stay long, gotta head out to work. It tok forever /i> to back read this morning!

  • #47548  unholyghost2003 on May 6, 2008 at 8:14 am

My school got their first “co-ed dorm” after I graduated. It is for upperclassmen only and has the women’s wing men’s wing lobby set up you mentioned Wade. But hey, great strides for a school that still has regulated visitation hours (men can be in the lobby of a women’s dorm between 10am and 10pm and vice versa. Tuesdays men can go into women’s dorm rooms from 3pm until 9pm, Thursdays women can go into men’s dorm rooms from 3pm until 9pm. Friday and Saturday in room visitation is from 3pm until 10pm and Sunday it is 8am until noon, so that the guys can pick up their ladies to go to church, not kidding)

  • #47547  fantasy on May 6, 2008 at 8:13 am

Amy that is a good one! Have you put a lot more on your flickr? I need to go around and do some blog visiting and picture looking today. :D

  • #47546  amy d on May 6, 2008 at 8:12 am

Hey fan. I can only imagine (that) what the waiting must be like for you, sweetheart. I am on pins and needles waiting for your surgery!

  • #47545  Wade on May 6, 2008 at 8:11 am

    beautiful, ♥ amy ♥

and LOL… just following uhg’s comment on the main :P

  • #47544  Wade on May 6, 2008 at 8:09 am

    hope all goes well, (((fantasy)))

the city of politicians is wrangling and brangling as usual. two more primaries today… which will no doubt settle nothing. this would make the news media happy, not only because it keeps people watching their programs, but the next stop on the campaign trail is puerto rico. ;)

  • #47543  amy d on May 6, 2008 at 8:08 am

    Gross, Wade!

Here’s a pic I took yesterday that I really like.

  • #47542  fantasy on May 6, 2008 at 8:07 am

    Goodmorning amy,Ghosty ♥

Why didn’t I see you? Sorry (((hugs))).

    How are you all?

  • #47541  fantasy on May 6, 2008 at 8:05 am

    Hi, Wade ♥

I am pretty good, I think! I can hardly wait for Thurs. go to Vancouver to see what they plan on doing. I think it will involve a scalpel. 8O

No, really I am fine with it if I can get most everything back I have lost. I would love to keep running but will settle for a brisk walk at this point. You got it, I hate to settle,so I take that back I will be running in no time!

How have you been Wade? Doing well bringing in Spring my way! Thanks. :D

How are things in the City of politicians going?

  • #47540  Wade on May 6, 2008 at 8:05 am

i remember when my college got its first “coed” dorm… girls in one wing, guys in the other, separated by the lobby (which was lined with razor wire and sentry posts) :D

  • #47539  Wade on May 6, 2008 at 8:02 am

    or the “warm beer” ;)

    morning uhg & amy :D

  • #47538  unholyghost2003 on May 6, 2008 at 8:02 am

I feel bad for the guys on that dorm floor on the main thread. I would be demanding a break on my housing if I were them.

    Good morning amy!

  • #47537  amy d on May 6, 2008 at 8:01 am

    Man I wish I had her meds…lol

But I really hope she’s doing okay too.
    And your kid too zombie.

  • #47520  zombieBlanco on May 6, 2008 at 1:54 am

    Did I scare Zsa away?

  • #47519  zombieBlanco on May 6, 2008 at 1:52 am

CB: You’re the first one I’m running to if it turns serious!

Anyway, the nightcrew shouldn’t be spending any extra energy worrying about little zombies, when we need to be lighting votives for Fantasy!

  • #47518  Canthz_B on May 6, 2008 at 1:48 am

Pay more attention to her white blood count then, if that is up it can be good because she is fighting the infection, but too high is bad. Sure wish I were a doctor at this point… :-(
Could be Mono…but I just read that the mumps is back…

  • #47517  Crash on May 6, 2008 at 1:46 am

I hope everything turns out good for your youngest zombie.

    And you too C.B.
with a kick ass job, you have the skills for one too.

  • #47516  Canthz_B on May 6, 2008 at 1:43 am

Let me know if you need health insurance info, ZB,
Networking can be the Bomb! ;-)

  • #47515  zombieBlanco on May 6, 2008 at 1:42 am

    Crash: CB is a genius

Right now they are just trying to get the infections under control (two different types of antibiotics) and running more blood tests and she also has to visit the dentist just to rule out anything there.

Anyway, enough about me: what were you guys up to today?

  • #47514  Crash on May 6, 2008 at 1:39 am

What are they thinking it is ?

  • #47513  Crash on May 6, 2008 at 1:38 am

C.B. knows a thing or two about that stuff zombie.
    8)

  • #47512  zombieBlanco on May 6, 2008 at 1:38 am

    CB: sedimentation!

Crash: right now her lymph nodes in her jaw and neck are all swollen, she looks like a chipmunk on steroids

  • #47511  zombieBlanco on May 6, 2008 at 1:34 am

CB: thanks about word, I’m only six behind you!

  • #47510  Crash on May 6, 2008 at 1:34 am

    Is there anything genetic ?

Most the time they are very cautiouse I think,
But that’s good too cause you don’t want them to miss anything either.
What kind of infections if you don’t mind ?
And if you do just tell me NOYB…
    It’s cool.
    8)

  • #47509  Canthz_B on May 6, 2008 at 1:34 am

sedimentation rate (85651, 85652)…it’s a red blood count, BTW.

  • #47508  zombieBlanco on May 6, 2008 at 1:33 am

Zsa: Portland always sounds cool, don’t they do a good Saturday market, or something like that? I haven’t been there since I was kid. I’m in NorCal, Humboldt Co. Four is a really cool age, still cute. My baby is sixteen, not quite so cute.

  • #47507  Crash on May 6, 2008 at 1:31 am

    Zsa !!
    You’re in Oregon too !!
    Awesome,
    I’m in Bend.
    :D

  • #47506  zombieBlanco on May 6, 2008 at 1:30 am

She keeps getting these infections and the sediment (I think that’s right) rate in her blood is not normal; so the doctors are trying to decided if it’s just a run of bad luck or something more ominous. I’m sure they’re just being overly cautious, but she’s the baby and I worry.

  • #47505  Canthz_B on May 6, 2008 at 1:29 am

I’m sure they will for me as well, Zsa.
I like the cubicle next to yours! :-D
    Hey, ZB!! Congrats on “WORD!”

  • #47504  Zsa on May 6, 2008 at 1:29 am

Hey Zombie- nice to meetcha. I’m another West Coaster (Portland). ummm… got a little one of my own. Small person is 4.
Hope yours is feeling better quickly.

  • #47503  Crash on May 6, 2008 at 1:27 am
