I actually don’t know if it’s a bridal or a baby shower. I’m hoping for baby–they are usually a little easier to deal with. It starts in two hours.

What a bummer regarding the lilacs. They’re in full bloom here, but they don’t grow wild. I bought a pot the other day which I thought was a reasonable price of about $4.00 (US and Oz seem fairly close at present, but I’ll just check and see if I’m wrong). The number 1 in front of the 4 was hiding, damn it! I bought them anyway, but I better not kill those ones - they were too expensive.
Are any prospective brides to be traipsing around yet?

The flower seasons here are so defined, I think I know what you mean about blinking and missing. The park that is 40 minutes or so from my place has gone from cherry, to camellia, to azalea. Very beautiful.

Well, it is a totally kickass comment.
Many times, Mother’s Day is the first really nice day we have to go hiking here. Usually the spring wildflowers are in full bloom, and if you don’t get out on Mother’s Day, you can miss them for the year.

Ooh, that looks lovely. My mum isn’t up to much hiking, but then, she never was. She does do tai chi and water therapy with a hydrotherapist ( I think that’s the term), and she also goes water walking.
My last weeks phone call and an email will probably suffice from my end

The shower is today, shouldn’t be too bad, I think.
Traditionally, we go hiking on Mother’s Day, but they are predicting rain tomorrow, so I’m not sure. I haven’t bought her a present or anything yet. I might just get her flowers and bake her some cinnamon rolls or something. Next Sunday I am going away for the night with my mom and sister, so I might just pay for that and call it her Mother’s Day present. This is one of the places we will go to, it is one of my favorite places in the world.

Try for Darvocet next time. This is not information I would normally have … but I once had a very stupid urgent care Doc who didn’t understand that my eardrum rupture wasn’t very painful … he was young and somehow missed all the scar tissue on my ear drum and wrote me a HUGE scrip for Darvocet … THAT was a fun party.

I had some really enormous tonsils that were blocking my air passages. It’s been part of a problem with sleep apnea, so without these huge tonsils, I should be able to breathe better.

Actually, Dutch is more heavy on consonants. And that awful sound that doesn’t exist in English, but exists in Arabic and Hebrew. It’s like an H sound, but sounds more like clearing your throat.
