ugh, he found my pot and pipe and stuff in my car on Sat and then I fucking lied about it being mine (it’s almost knee-jerk which kind of worries me that I can’t control that impulse - but it’s only with him!!) like I was a fucking teenager! I should’ve just said it was mine, but it took me two days to confess.
He’s pissed since we have honesty issues as it is. And that if he had to submit to a probation search they can search that car since his name is on the title and he could’ve gone back to jail. I didn’t know that part. I thought he had to be in the car for them to search it.

YES. People from West Virginia and parts of Kentucky call green peppers mangoes. I don’t know why but when you consider the demographics imagine how somebody from this area would react if you brought them the tropical fruit rather than a bell pepper when they asked you to pick a few up from the store.

My mom gave my sister the family’s three-family house.
It was supposed to be a refuge in case of emergencies like mine so none of us would ever be home-less.
My sister converted it into a one family so my option of moving in there would now be living with the sister from Hell.
I’d rather move to AZ than the 2 miles to my sister’s house!! LOL

LOL yeah … that never happened at my undergrad. I will give them that. If you didn’t call in with an excuse for being out (or send someone with your excuse) the profs would call you at your house … but that is a double edged sword … profs who didn’t show regularly and for lame ass reasons would get “What the fuck man? I was here. Where the hell where you?”

I had a prof that told us that if we see a snowflake don’t come in.
We thought he meant if the school was closed, but in late November there were a few flakes forecast…no accumulation…so we all went to class and there was a sign on the door saying Prof. Jones’ classes were cancelled for the day.
Same guy let us use our notes during exams.
We loved him and his classes always filled first!!

I’m with you there CB! The world needs ditch diggers too! nothing against ditch diggers … but not everyone is cut out for academia and trying to act like everyone is hurts the kids who are not and the kids who are.
CB, that depends on the school and the classes. At my undergrad and my grad school both my largest classes were about 30-50 people and I had classes that were only me and the prof. Most of my upper level undergrad classes were less than a dozen people. That can get a little … intense but did me well!

Yeah, after everything went to SHIT in KY hubby and I moved into the apartment my parents own that is next door to their house. The rent is “free” (meaning we “pay rent” by being “free” manual labor with young backs for house repairs, yard work, dog sitting and what not.) We don’t plan to be here forever … but for now it isn’t bad!

Institutions need grades, unfortunately, but if you’re at a good one, you can usually work your way around that.
Teaching on your own terms is a pretty rewarding thing.

yes, I think you would make MY favorite kind of teacher … patient and understanding with those who are having trouble with a concept or just struggle in general … but the 2nd time one of those annoying kids ask a stupid question just to be a smartass … BLAMO! all hell breaks loose!
Why not look into teaching at the college level? It is more likely that those kids ACTUALLY want to be in class and you can throw stuff at them if they are being bad (UHG has had to duck flying chalk)

I love my own kids and step sons…I really wish no one else had any! LOL
I do like to teach, but only on my own terms I think.
I hate grades, think they are stupid and arbitrary, but I love it when the light goes on in a kids eyes that says “Oh, I get it!”
Perhaps tutor rather than school teacher.

End of May or end of June if I find no work.
Taalib is on his own, I have not heard from him in weeks.
I have no regrets about things, except I wonder if I should have pressured him into grief counseling after his mom died. Maybe if I had…but you can’t make a dead dog bark.
Anyway, there’s nothing keeping me in NJ any longer. My daughters are both adults now and their mom is re-married so everything there is secure. Celeste is gone and Taalib does not need me. My oldest step-son is 30 and stable in his life.
I’ve done my part and it’s time to do me now.
