it’s so me to be the only one to take it literally.
It’s cool. Like I said I couldn’t follow the actual event that inspired the invite, but everyone has been as cool as their posts made them seem on PAN so it’s awesome to get to chat with you all and I’m glad whatever it was has been cleared up (?)
as for the trial by fire thing, I did get insulted on my very first PAN post if that counts?
(I hope it does, I am rubbish at being offended so the trial would take FOREVER

knunk - not really a secret, just no one but us ever posted cuz we were in here talking about personal stuff or boring (to them) stuff - uhg was right, we had the illusion of privacy. re: trials by fire, yeah well, i’m not big on that but some of the other regulars were. i don’t think claw posted that comment for spite, IMO it was a way to provoke a conversation. he sometimes does things that drive others crazy to make a point. usually a good one once you’ve had time to consider it.

Don’t get me wrong, everyone I’ve had a chance to chat with in here has been really welcoming and cool, but I think I’ve been posting on PAN for over a month and was never inclined to look @ TMHQ until a big fat neon sign was put around it so I get the “best kept secret” vibe and wouldn’t want to spoil it or make anyone resent the person who pointed it out if it was done in spite.
I’ll pretend I would have found it eventually and forget there was drama involved.

it wasn’t easy, I take her everywhere she’s allowed but I was out of the country and there was a 40 day quarantine for dogs under two years old

the sad thing is I still wouldn’t have known what that was unless detailed instructions weren’t left.
when I got here, I found out that was some controversial in-fight (?) and I had crashed the cool kid’s lunch table but everyone has been really nice

I know the reasoning behind dreds runs the gamut from religion to trendiness but it does irk me to see parents do that to kids.
I’m not a parent so I don’t understand the hangups some parents have about their kid’s hair… like letting it grow long and making their first haircut a big production etc.
That said, if I end up having a son I am not sure I could resist giving him a little bro-hawk

Fantasy- the dread question is one we ask ourselves very often here (here IRL, not here ITMHQ). The short answer is we don’t know. The long answer involves much musing; my hair is half-way down my back and weighs a ton when it’s wet, how much more do dreads weigh wet?, if you can’t brush your hair does that mean the dreads are years of old hair that didn’t get brushed out?, if dreads are a religious expression, what does it mean when your five year old has them?
