Absolutely glo, I think that’s the idea.

The doctors tell me they understand why it hurts, there is nothing they can do but prescribe, but they don’t quite feel comfortable doing it over a long period of time, so sorry, but tough shit.

Medical science has come up with a solution for my knee. It’s a knee replacement. However, every single doctor I’ve visited over the last 5 years has told me I am too young for one.

Yes, my primary care physician is very good about it. She wanted me in the hospital just to manage pain better through IV. But I said no, I feel fine at home.
The trick is to stay on top of the pain, she gave me some lighter pain meds and strong both.

No, it really isn’t right. I don’t think it will ever be. I just get shuffled from doc to doc.

In all fairness, there is nothing to be done about it but manage it, but many docs are scared to prescribe pain meds for any lengthy amount of time. So the patient suffers because of the drug seekers.

    Fantasy,

In 2000, I tore my ACL, Meniscus, and fractured my kneecap. I have had three surgeries, and have recently been told there is no cartilage left in my knee.

It usually hurts like hell. I do take painkillers for it, so I understand some of what you are going through.

The worse part is getting appropriate treatment for it. No doctor wants to prescribe for any amount of time, and pain management frequently over medicates. It is a fine line, and it sucks.

I know what you’re saying about potlucks, RB. I’m not obsessive about cleanliness in my kitchen but then again I’m well-acquainted with the filth that inhabits my house. I don’t want to eat somebody else’s filth.

Where I work people are obsessed with meatballs and those little smokie cocktail sausages. On any given potluck there will be three versions of meatballs slathered in sweet sauce and at least one dish full of little smokies swimming in Open Pit.

On occasion I take it upon myself to construct a vulgar food statue that utilizes two meat balls and one little smokie. Sometimes I’ll put a dab of ranch dressing (yet another ubiquitous pot luck feature) in a strategic location.

I rarely participate but I did work with this freak who insisted canola oil was toxic and derived from mustard gas. I made a black bean and corn salad that and used canola to pull it together. She ate a good bit of it because she was playing the role of vegan that week but didn’t ask me what was in it until after she ate. When I told her I had used canola she threw a fit. She reported me to HR and accused me of poisoning her. She said it was like giving peanuts to somebody with a peanut allergy. What galled me is the fact that HR actually wasted my time by following up with me.

so we had a potluck today and i have this weird phobia about eating things my co-workers make. they dont look like they would have clean kitchens. so, this girl brought in chilaquiles and on the outside of the bowl was a very small hair. this could have been mine (though it didnt look red) or it could have simply fallen there, but it made me so sick that i had to run back to my own office and crack open my emergency nutri-grain bar. call me paranoid, but if the hair was on the outside, what could be on the inside???

    ROSE!

Suddenly the sun breaks through the clouds, birds start to sing, and a family of bunnies hop out onto the lawn and begin to play. Our heroine takes the fistful of sleeping pills she had been considering downing with a few glasses of tequila and flushes them down the toilet. Maybe, just maybe, life does have meaning, if only that meaning be that someone has to clean up the cat puke, and once, in a very great while, that someone might be able to exchange a few words with her beloved Rose.

We’re finally out of the flannel stage. Now it’s knit three-quarter length sleeve and capri bottoms. And stop making fun of my syntax. I took them off for the shower.

No rose, don’t go to bed yet!

If I can hold off on showering until 11:30, and still in my jammies (is that tmi?), surely you can stay up into the wee hours to talk to me.

    *pines for rose*

mishee, like all crackheads, your cat thinks its okay to live in a cardboard box. next thing you know, it’ll be peddling around town on a bike with a flash light duct taped to the handle bars and a mattress bungee corded to the back.

forgive me tmhq, for i have sinned, in not backreading, and making a rather lame attempt at first comment. but i was first, first dammit! however, forgive me for all i have done and all i have failed to do.

two notes slipped under the radar without moi in noticing. ‘glo, the rape of leda was hilarious and well deserving of the word it received.
