I do understand, Ames. Blame the kryptonite. Lots of new guys, too. Which is fab - but I’m often not around, or a bit busy when the bonding goes on - and the wit is sharp! I sometimes feel a bit stodgy like a yorkshire pudding in comparison sometimes. And I don’t always have that much to say, which is okay.

or I would never get away. I do spend too much time here, too. It’s the downside of living alone - no-one to tell you you’re on the computer too damned much
I’m feeling pretty good. Going back home for a break mid-August, my new colleagues are really nice, my new classes going well. I have these brief moments where I seem to be waking up from a long sleep. I hope those brief moments continue and lengthen.

No, I just didn’t know enough about Danae, or about the whole Greek mythology thing in general. I thought, in the perverse way of the ancients, that maybe Leda did actually fall deeply in love with Zeus and was jealous of Danae, and etc. and I just realised I was out of my mythological depth.

I love returning home, I just don’t like staying there for too long, though there is a bushwalk I have been doing since I was about 13 which is where I feel most at home.

Well, home is home, and sometimes familiarity can be refreshing and relaxing. But I’m a real homebody–I like to travel, but coming home is always the best part.

Now, the plans for the summer hol are a trip back home. Feel a bit defeated in that regard, as the world is so huge, and that’s where I go - but, the fares to the UK are just too high at present (Oz isn’t cheap either, but accomodation is) - and I’ll consider it next spring.

Right now, Goose Island’s 312 Urban Wheat Ale. It is meh, for the price. Better than Bud or MGD, but if I’m paying $8 for a 6 pack I expect it to be better. I should clarify, I don’t have a 6pack of this. We did a “build your own 6pack” always a good move when trying something new.
