No sweat, Mark. It can be hard to keep track of everyone when you first come in here. Plus, I’ve been in and out so am not as visible as some of the other players in here.
I’m currently watching Deranged (another) show about serial killers and the like. The current show is about Henry Lee Lucas.
I have 2 cats (Magic and Pumpkin) and one dog (Sunshine). Do you find that your cats prefer one litter box over another? Magic seems to like one while Pumpkin mostly uses the one I already described. I’ve never heard of that brand of litter. I wonder if it’s available anywhere here?

Oh Amy, are you the one with the son with the drug problems who just got his ankle tracker off? Sorry, I forget who is who sometimes (and don’t feel like backreading).
I know what you mean about the litter boxes. We’ve settled on two boxes, both covered, for 4 cats. One is in downstairs bathroom, one is in upstairs bathroom. Both are filled with “World’s Greatest Cat Litter” which is expensive but is worth every penny. It is flushable (really) so very easy to deal with. No liners or anything to worry about.
CB, I thought you were responding to my harem as well! I hate to admit it, but I’ve never seen Fiddler.

There’s a rather long backstory to my son, but suffice it to say that he is young (16), just got his GED and is planning to go to the community college for a year or 2 before transferring to a 4 year college.
While I was waiting for you or CB to respond, I cleaned out one litter box and changed the other one. I also physically switched to a new (to me) litter box. The youngest cat tends to scratch holes in the liners (even if I double bag), which makes a mess when you try to change it out. My mom had one that has a roof. Her cats did not like it, so I’m trying that one out. I’m hoping that since less nag will be visible, it will be less tempting to Pumpkin to destroy it.

I’m so relieved to know you see me standing at the head of the line.
Second, about the aphids. What you need is a sacrificial lamb. You need to decide one plant to be all aphid-y, then you can attract the ladybugs and other predators. If you get rid of all the aphids, the ladybugs will never come, and you will get more and more aphids and no one to eat them. The rest of the plants you can try to treat. I don’t know much about that, but seems to me you should start mild and work your way up.

Yeah, ames, in my opinion, she’s a spoiled, self-centered brat, but I’ll never say that to The Motorcycle, no matter how many times he expresses the same opinion (’cause I’m not a complete idiot). However, I am willing to give her a lot of the benefit of the doubt (surprise!) because she did lose her mother a year ago, and that must have been hard. So she’s dealing with that and going off to college and that crappy time of life where nothing is the same. Hey glo.. being on the other end of that situation, I can tell you that it IS a little frustrating when I want to spend time with my Dad and he is up in Berkeley (or in Italy like he was this Father’s Day) or something and won’t make concessions to see me… but at the same time, I understand because not only have I done the same (put my relationship before family and friends) but I also know that most of my life my father (who is the most FULL of love person you could ever hope to meet… *ahem, http://www.lovepoetry.com*) has been alone and that sucks having so much love and not having someone to be able to give it to…
But on the other hand, I am his daughter, and I think now that they are about 5 yrs into the relationship, that if I really wanted him to see me, as long as they don’t have plans (they are just the social butterflies! he went to Eddie last night, I hope he got me my “Cake or Death” mug I asked for since I was broke when I went)….
I don’t know, it is a sticky situation but the daughter needs to realize that she would probably do the same if she were in his position, and she needs to relax.

Things are going pretty good with The Motorcycle, thanks, ames. A few glitches here and there, but neither of us is a fan of drama, so they have been taken care of through the miracle of communication. One slightly stickier problem is that his college-aged daughter doesn’t like me. Or probably more accurately, his college-aged daughter doesn’t like that he is not at her beck and call when he’s with me. The absolute LAST thing I want to do, with my history, is get in the way of a caring dad and his daughter, so I’m a little leery of getting in the middle of that. However, I view that as mostly his problem, and since I’ve already made it clear to him that he needs to let her know when we have plans and that on no account should he break plans with her for me, I feel like I’ve done about as much as I can do.

Well, actually, I could give you a story, ames.
This one time, at knitting camp (last year), everyone showed their abdominal scars from surgeries, except me, because I’ve never had a surgery. I felt all left out.

When you return, you can regale us with stories that start out “one time, at knitting camp…”

The camp takes place this year at the extremely beautiful Devil’s Lake State Park, which is just outside Baraboo.
The Mustard Museum is in Mt. Horeb, which is 30 or 40 miles south of Baraboo, but it’s not on my itinerary for this trip.
This post will no doubt be out of sync, due to NUMEROUS interruptions.
