Umm, I have done something similar in my old neighborhood that was gate because I am coming from the driver’s right and they would blast through making a left turn, assuming I was going to the gate but actually I would drive straight to go to my friends house to pick her up. Many a times I almost got killed just in my neighborhood…

If it’s that loud, maybe it’s a blessing Mr. Blue Subaru doesn’t stop.

Though I admire the note-writer’s attention to detail in using blue for highlighting purposes, if the driver doesn’t pay attention to a red octagon why would he heed scrawls on cardboard?

I’m not old OR cranky, but I can certainly sympathize with the writer of the sign.

Gramps needs to take it up a notch and invest in some road spikes.

I suppose they found spraying him with their garden hose as they watered their prize roses to be ineffective.

If dude wants to have his music up loud that’s his choice. I have subs in my truck and when a person complains about it, I turn it up louder. But, at night I do turn the bass down when in the neighborhood and as far as the stop sign I respect that.

Aren’t you just itching to go and add another sign onto that one that says “And get a bloody haircut!”
I so am.

@Elizabeth:
It sounds like you’d actually fit in well as a portion of this site. Why not just.. you know.. ask your neighbor to respect your desire for silence?

I thought that stop signs with the white border around them were optional….

I LOVE it!!! Although I’m not the Robyn from Durango that posted this, I completely agree!!! I’m also not old & cranky…the bigger issue is STOPPING for the damn sign! But, I also hate FEELING other people’s stereos blasting away…isn’t that noise pollution? However, it’s their own hearing loss they’re causing. They’ll just have to deal with hearing aids early in life. ;o)

I’ve often thought about doing this, but addressing it to bike riders. I don’t know what it is with them but they never stop. Even when there’s cars crossing the intersection. I’ve even seen them running red lights.
Last I heard in California it’s a $350 ticket for a bike rider caught running a stop sign. But you’d think that the risk of getting hit by a car would be enough to deter them.

I live in Colorado and I think this is glorious. I want to know where it is so I can take a picture standing next to it, shaking my fist.

Boom stereos that are that powerful are nothing less than sonic assault. This air pollution is yet another way for those whose insecurities are so extreme, to get some notice. I am a certified volunteer first responder, and I’ve sworn not to assist anyone with a mega-bass system, or fart tube or Flowmaster modified exhausts.
They need to be culled from the gene pool.

Half the people in Durango drive Subarus. We need more information. What kind of music? Is it KSUT? KDUR?

I sent this pic to my b/f – he lives out of state, drives a blue Subaru, and has been known to miss the occasional stop sign……. but good news. His stereo doesn’t work.
